Blogging 101

Blogging has it’s own vocabulary. To understand blogs, you need to know the terms. New words like blog, platform, domain, and host are going to be thrown out at you a lot. If you can master the basic terms and ideas of blogging them you can begin to understand the more complicated concepts. If you are completely new at blogging begin here.

What is a blog?

Most people already know what a blog is, but there still some who are newly entering the blogging world. A blog is basically a website that is frequently updated. Each update is in it’s own post, most often presented in reverse chronological order. What you are reading now is just one page of a blog.

Most blogs are text, but there are also photo blogs and video blogs. A blog can be written by one person or several. It can be personal, professional, educational, entertaining, or just about anything else you could imagine. Think of a blog as one of the easiest ways to etch out your own little piece of the internet.
